Process to Run for Office

• Read the descriptions of the duties of SNA Officers for more information and current contact info of each position
• Decide which office you would like to run for (you may only run for ONE position)
• Download the following Application Form, fill it out, and email it as an attachment to Jess Thompson (jessrthompsonnn@gmail.com) within the Application Submission period specified above.
• Once approved to run, your name and photo will appear next to the office on the Meet the Candidates page
• You can edit your bio by clicking the "Edit Bio" link on the right
• Follow the rules for campaigning below

Rules for Campaigning

• No campaigning is allowed in NLC
• Campaigning may begin once you are an “accepted” candidate
• No advertisements or announcements during class time
• Students should not spend more than $20 on campaign materials
• Campaign materials should be limited to the 1st floor study room and the 4th floor study room
• Posters 11 X 8 ½ (a regular sheet of paper) should be limited to 2 per person
• Other smaller flyers are allowed as well, but please be respectful of other students
• No mass texting or emailing of students is permitted.
• Each candidate may submit one poster/flyer as a pdf to SNA to post in an album on the SNA Facebook page
• All other posts on this page are prohibited
• Please do not take anything to the wall
• Limit campaign materials to tables and cork board
• When giving out campaign treats, they must be individually wrapped

Who is Eligible to Run for Office

• Nursing students currently in semesters 1 through 4 (as you must be able to serve for an entire year)
• Members of SNA that are currently enrolled in classes in the nursing program
• Those with leadership experience
• If running for President, must have been on the SNA Board during the previous year
• Must be able to attend SNA class Mondays at 8AM

Who is Eligible to Vote

• Nursing students currently in semesters 1 through 5
